Just in from t'afia:
Nothing is better than a picnic in the park, except when Houston's best chefs do all the work!
This slow food picnic is part of Harvest Day in the Park, a full day of events to raise awareness of sustainable solutions that we can implement in our everyday lives. Harvest Day in the Park is organized by The Blackwood Educational Land Institute.
Chefs Cade Conlon, Frederico (Ruggles Green), Randy Evans (Haven), Ryan Pera (The Grove), Monica Pope (t'afia), Claire Smith (Shade), Joe Bentley (Raven Grill), Jonathan Jones (Beaver's) and Kiran Verma (Kiran's) will make picnic dishes using ingredients from the Slow Food's Ark of Taste list (a catalog of over 200 delicious foods in danger of extinction; by promoting and eating Ark products, we help ensure they remain in production and on our plates).
