How to Contact BP

Do you have ideas for BP?

I received a string of e-mails today and the one below was included.  It is correspondence from Hunter Rowe, Deputy Technical Manager of the Alternative Response Technology (ART) Team for BP.  It includes the email address to which you can send your ideas about what they should do about the spill.

The names were not changed but were XXX'd out to protect the innocent.

Yes, I am secretly hoping you cc: us so we can post the good ones!

Have fun and thanks for playing!

Dear XXX,

As deputy to the technical manager for BP’s Alternative Response Technologies organization focused on the Gulf of Mexico oil spill and clean-up, I received your note (below) to <XXX> offering the help of the Engineering, Science and Technology Council of Houston.  We at BP appreciate offers of help from respected organizations like <XXX> and we are actively engaging such help from experts around the world.

As you can imagine, we are getting thousands of calls and emails daily from around the world with suggestions, technology ideas and such, and there is a deliberate process we are using to evaluate those.  Our current goal is to incorporate the skills of the world’s most talented individuals within our current screening processes and if you have in mind names and resumes of specific persons we invite you to forward them using our idea submission process outlined below.  In particular we are engaging individuals with demonstrated expertise in oil spill response technologies and onshore removal and remediation methodologies.

You can submit nominations by email to Horizonsupport@oegllc.com.

Additionally we welcome any specific ideas or technology suggestions.  You can submit such ideas one of two ways:

Emails to Horizonsupport@oegllc.com <mailto:Horirzonsupport@oegllc.com>   or
Or Direct Input to a Word Document Form via; www.horizonedocs.com/artform.php <http://www.horizonedocs.com/artform.php>

All the input comes into the Technology Team, where we evaluate the technology idea with in house engineers (two levels of review) and then in a third level of review we get field operations management input on feasibility in the field. We have tested several ideas already in the field and would welcome any ideas you may have.

Thanks again for your offer of help.
