Strawmanor is a straw bale filled eco-vacation retreat in the Texas Hill Country, in Canyon Lake, near New Braunfels. An hour outside both Austin and San Antonio. Strawmanor is committed to conserving nature, providing an eco-friendly place for fun and vacations and contributing to protecting the environment. We are nestled on two acres filled with deer, a variety of birds, and plant life. We over look Canyon Lake in the town Canyon Lake where there is very minimal development and an abundance of fresh air, flora, fauna, wildlife, opportunities for hiking, sailing, fishing and simply enjoying the great outdoors. The straw used to build Strawmanor came from Texas farms between San Antonio and San Angelo. By using straw we used a more healthy building material with fewer toxic chemicals and by using a recycled waste product we also did not participate in the usual over production and consumption cycle that hurts the environment. The house itself is a healthy place to reside because of the improved air quality from both the straw filled walls and its location in Canyon Lake where there is minimal pollution and an abundance of plant and animal life.
