What Can San Francisco Bay Teach Us About Galveston Bay?
Saving the Bay Screening with Producer Ron Blatman
Webster, TX – The Galveston Bay Foundation (GBF) and Houston Green Scene will host producer Ron Blatman on March 3rd for a screening of his award winning documentary narrated by Robert Redford, Saving the Bay. The film explores the history of San Francisco Bay, from its origins, to its exploitation, and finally to the restoration efforts of today.
Mr. Blatman will be present to provide introductory remarks. Following the one hour screening, a panel of local experts will discuss restoration efforts in Galveston Bay. The panel, moderated by GBF President Bob Stokes, will include: Helen Drummond, Director, Galveston Bay Estuary Program; Lisa Gonzalez, Houston Advanced Research Center; Lance Robinson, Texas Parks and Wildlife Department; Jamie Schubert, Upper Coast Ecosystem Assessment Team Leader, Texas Parks and Wildlife Department; and Woody Woodrow, United States Fish and Wildlife Services - Coastal Program.
There is no fee to attend this event, and everyone is welcome. Please join us on Thursday, March 3rd from 6:00 pm – 8:30 pm at the Brown Education Auditorium at the Houston Zoo, 6200 Hermann Park Drive.
