How much difference can one person really make?

We CAN Recycle, a Houston glass recycling company, has been been selected as a "Friend of Glass" by
Glass Packaging Institute (GPI) for making significant and innovative efforts to promote and participate in glass container recycling for bottle-to-bottle use. This honor is shared by previous honorees including
Earth911.com, the
Hyatt Regency Atlanta, Sierra Nevada Brewing Co., and
McIlhenny Company for TABASCO Brand. GPI serves as a voice for the glass container industry in Washington DC and across the nation who serves their member companies, including Canadian and Mexican glass container companies through legislation, public relations, promotional and technical activities.

National recognition comes as no surprise for a company who has recycled more than a million pounds of material as of July 9, 2010 until you know that
We CAN Recycle is a one-man operation.
Mark Austin, founder of Houston's choice for full service glass recycling, has single-handedly transformed his desire to make a serious difference into a nationally-recognized program in less than two years since inception.
The next time you reach for the trash can instead of a recycle bin because you're unsure how much difference can one person can really make, think again.
We CAN Recycle offers full service glass recycling and specializes in commercial glass recycling including bars, restaurants, businesses and mulit-unit dwellings. They also provide drop-off recycling services Tuesday through Saturday from 8:30am - 4:30pm at
723 N Drennan St. Houston, TX 77003.
We CAN Recycle is a non-profit organization who's mission is to reduce pollution and greenhouse gasses, raise awareness about the importance of recycling and promote recycling as a way to reduce the strain on our landfills.
