Urban Harvest is looking for volunteers to help build the next City Garden project at the Houston Permitting Center, home of Green Building Resource Center on January 7th. Located at the end of Washington Avenue next to the tunnel to employee parking is ample room for 5 raised beds, one for each floor of the HPC, approximately 65' by 40' area. Also included will be 5 compost containers and a few fruit trees and a flower garden. HPC gardeners will sign up to plant, maintain, and harvest the produce grown there.
WHEN: Pre-Installation of the Raised Bed Walls: 8:00 AM, Saturday, January 7, 2012 A dozen or so volunteers needed to layout and place 12" by 12" salvaged structural glazed tile from the building into 4' wide by 19' long attractive walls for the 5 beds, including staking each one with salvaged pvc piping.
