We strive to keep our planet healthy by seeking out cleaner fuel sources, and eco-friendly equipment, whether electric, propane, solar or powered by an alternative energy source not yet discovered. We actively find innovative ways to reduce our carbon footprint during our day-to-day operations—then offset what we can’t. By purchasing high quality, third-party verifiable carbon offset credits, we help our customers minimize their carbon footprint, as well as bring ours down to zero.

Wabash Antiques & Feed

Business Description:

Wabash Antique and Feed Store (or Washington Avenue Bric-a-brac, Antiques, Sundries, and Hardware, as it was known in its early days) is a Houston institution. For over a hundred years, Wabash has been helping this city grow, supplying feed, seed, and farming supplies to early settlers andtoday's backyard gardener alike.
While Houston has grown and changed around us, we've kept the traditions Wabash has stood for since the beginning, giving them a modern twist. You can see this spirit of updated tradition in our selection of organic solutions, our rustic imported antiques, and our knowledgeable, friendly staff.
While it's true we are a feed store, we're much more than that. We're a hardware store, a pet shop, an organic herb garden and an antique market. We're the only place in Houston you can find holistic pet treatments, vegetable and native plants, natural pet foods, bird feeders, fertilizer, an enormous selection of farm poultry AND cold beer under one barn roof.

How we contribute to a greener Houston:
Wabash Antiques & Feed Store carries one of the largest selections of organic products, from soils to fertilizers from organic pesticides to Havahart live traps. We promote organic practices. Synthetic chemicals were deemed safe for use for farmers, industry, and homeowners. We have learned differently now; these chemicals have hurt the earth, our water, our air, our food, and our health. Bringing back the balance can only be done by cultural changes through feeding our soils and by discontinuing the use of harmful chemicals. We help our customers with all their questions in how to implement this greener way to grow.

Contemporary Caprice Designs

Contemporary Caprice Designs
Business Description:

We are a design firm like no other that I have seen. We do not charge ridiculous amounts of money, and use green building materials at no extra price, in fact at times, they are cheaper.

[1] Part Schooled [2] part mad man, Freelance Project Manager and Home Designer Hugo Rodriguez- Ugalde was born into a family of farmers, builders, architects, engineers, landscape designers, electricians, plumbers, and race horse jockeys. The sweet smell of corn husks and the cozy feel of the chicken coops marked my memories of the farm as we relocated to Houston TX. I interned with my dad at a very young age, where I started designing homes at 10 years old. I was an early high school graduate at 16, and started my first semester in college. I attained the most valuable knowledge by trade when I started my design firm in 2007. I have a deep passion for smart design, modern architecture, and skilled education. -Hugo Rodriguez- Ugalde
